OMG east coasts schools are paying way way more than what APU is offering me.
for example this is university of maryland What about assistantships, stipends, and tuition?
Admitted students are invited to the CSP Preview Program, April 5-7, 2009. Employers review resumes, students review job descriptions, and both send in preference lists. Interviews are scheduled. Over 60 assistantships were posted this year. You do not need to apply for assistantships prior to notification of admission. Ten-month assistantship remuneration ranges from $11-14,000 plus full tuition remission and health benefits. Twelve month assistantships are also available with higher stipends. Assistantships are available for all students.

NYU :
Graduate / Teaching / Research Assistantships (GA/TA/RA) are awarded on a competitive basis and provide up to full-time tuition support, generous living stipend and student health insurance. Twenty hours of service related to the academic and professional responsibilities of the appointment are typically expected. No special application is required for new students since all eligible full-time applicants (domestic and international) are automatically considered for such positions provided they meet all appropriate deadlines. Preference and priority for assistantships is given to PhD and MFA candidates. Candidates meeting the requirements for available positions will be contacted directly by program or department faculty.

um yea I should have look more into different universities instead of only applying to APU since it didnt require the GRE.. NYU doesnt require the GRE either. ugh.

my friend in texas(his parents are in the oil industry) is offering me free rent in NYC in two years since I told him I was going to move to Maryland for my phd.( if I can get free tuition and work on campus at the same time) Woo free rent and I am so moving to nyc since I don't have to pay for it. His parent's own a loft or something in Soho and they never use it so he's moving there too. So yea if I can get accepted to like NYU or Columbia and go there for free as I work for my phd its actually going to be a lot cheaper than living in Los Angeles! woohoo.

I'm thinking about transfering to University of Maryland next year for my second year. Its cheaper than APU, I get 11,000 a year as a stipend, and full ride college tuition.. plus its going to be much cheaper there than it is here. i dunno though.. maryland is the number one school in college counseling so its going to be really really hard to get in.

So I was listening to one of my fav rock bands today(Wolfmother) when I decided to wikipedia them up. I found out that Robert plant thought the lead singer sounds a lot like him so Led Zeppelin ask them to preform a song of theirs as guests. How cool is that coming from Led Zeppelin consider how private they are with their music being shared in the media. I remember telling one of my friends that Joker and the Thief should be in Rock Band a few months ago. I just found out that their song Woman is in Guitar Hero 2 so hey I was close enough! :)

I'm thinking about signing up a music theory class on Monday's and Wednesday during the fall.
I won't register until I have all the information of my work schedule filled! woo.

I'm so freaking out about grad school. I find out how much of a direct loan I can get from the school this week. I hope I can get the amount that I will request because it will allow me to be closer on campus! Also I'm thinking about getting a meal plan(covered with the loan) so I don't have to worry about food. I'm going to be in SOOOOOOO much debt but at least I will have a career that I will love! I'm really liking my co horts this year. We all just added each other on facebook and they are all super nice.
I'm stressing out about being busy when school starts because I'll be taking classes, working 29 hours a week from the assistantship and second job, and writing papers. My classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 pm-9:45 pm. I have to work 20 hours a week with the assistantship( no schedule yet) but most of them will be the typical office hours 10 am-2 pm.I'm going to try to schedule an extra 9 hours from my second job probably during the weekends.. eh i dunno.
Good news is that I found out I don't have to study for any tests! Yay. Bad news is that I'll be writing ten papers a week. I know it looks like my writing sucks but its actually better than before and in August I will take an extra arguement/critical thinking class at Glendale Community college to get me in the study mode! Oh and I will finally start working in August! Woo.
I'm probably going to make around 1000 dollars a month from the assistantship and second job. I'm going to save a lot of it since I can't go out that much anymore as I will be super busy. I'm planning on putting at least 15% of that into my savings account every month for emergencies.

I'm going to Washington D.C in a few weeks to visit some friends. I was able to get a free flight from American Airlines since I booked many of my flights with them over the past years! Woo free flight. I read that many of the things to do in D.C are free and my friends will show me how to take the metro. Also I'm crashing at my friend's place the entire weekend so I'm hoping to spend less than 100 dollars because that's about what I have left in my account. I can't believe I was able to save up so much in South Korea that it lasted for almost 5 months without working! I miss working though.. I hate being lazy and just going out and not doing anything. I'm sure by august I'm going to say the opposite but I will be happier when I'm in school and working at the same time.

Very very long post because I'm finally caring about issues for the first time and not just reading news from perez hilton.com

so I took a test on politicalcompass.org and it says that my views are closely related to Angela Merkel than anybody else. I had no idea who she is so I looked her up and realized that I did like a lot of her policies! I always assumed I was a democrat because I like helping out the disadvantage but it turns out I am more of a Republican. Acutally my views are kinda messed up. It says I am more socially moderate. Turns out my ideals are closely related to one of the main political parties in Germany called the Christian Social Union. It's quite neat. I decided I'm just going to be in the Independent Party so I don't have to feel pressured into voting just republican or democrat but only on the issues themselves.

For example, I am really religious and I am a Christian but I still believe that the Church and State should be seperate. Religion should never mix with state policies. I like the idea of having prayer in public schools but as an option program. For example once a week a teacher can held up a volunteer forum for religion talks for those who wants to participate. So people won't be forced into participating but there is that option for people who can participate!

The quiz said that even though I'm socially moderate I still upheld a lot of traditional conservative ideals. For example, I believe families are important and it is our duty to help children. I like the idea of school vauchers because If I become a parent I want to make sure my children receive the best education if I can't afford private schools. I was fortunate enough to attend private schools for most of my life but I know this isnt the case for everyone. I believe in a small universal health care for the people who can't afford to buy health insurance. I don't know what kind of requirements but mostly for people who are on the welfare and the disadvantage. However, if people can afford to buy their own health care than they should have their own health care to get the best quality of medication. I'm taking a few medications at the moment. One of them is for my ADHD medication and there are at least 5 different kinds of medication for ADHD patients. They all work differently on certain people and I would hate just being told that I have to take one certain medication on a certain type of dosages. I like vareity and I have a feeling that if health care is universal than we won't get as many options.. I'm actually going to talk to my friends in Canada to see how they like the universal health care option. Maybe if I get some opinions from them it will give me a better judgement.

I also believe in helping out the poor, the disadvantage, and the ederly. Even though I am more of a Republican now I am a strong beliver of the welfare state. I just think its sad when a lot of people try to take advantage of welfare for selfish and personal reasons such as being to lazy to work, etc. They are hurting those who really need help from the government because they cant help themselves. My mom is in the process of trying to get
a regiserted nurse from the state so when I move on campus someone can take care of her.
I would hate to see this type of program being shut down because of government cuts. I need to read more into how the welfare system works, what type of people apply for welfare, and how much we are spending into this system. If the welfare system is cut than at least we should try to help out charities so charaties and different organizations can help out the disadvantage. The same with privitization. I love the idea of privitization. I want to make sure we all get the right social secruity, health care, private business, etc. I also think there should be a small universal amount for the people I just mentioned above.

I am pro life for myself. I don't think I ever want to get an abortion and if one of my friends want an abortion than I will try to persuade some other options first. I think abortion should be the last possible option for women to take. However, I know that at the end it is a woman's decision to get an abortion if she really wants it. I have no control or say to what she wants to do with her body. As a Christian, I just want to be there for her and guide her through this difficult decision. I'm sure she doesn't want to have an abortion either but these decisions are never easy. I really am irriated at women who gets like 5 to 6 abortions thourghout their life because they don't pratice safe sex or don't think about other options. I think its sad because I do believe that a fetus is a life and that women should at least think about different alternatives.

Same sex marriage: Ok as a Christian I know in the bible it said that its wrong for people of the same sex to be in a relationship. However, I interpreted knowing that I can't judge people of their sins. Everyone is not perfect except for Jesus. However, its hard not to judge people such as rapists, murderers, etc. I really hate it when people say that marriage should be between a man and a woman. The reasons why I hate is because divorce rates are so high! I think divorce is horrible since not only it affects the parents but also the children. I know that there are many many reasons for divorce and that if a marriage can't work than divorce must be an answer. I'm fine when people are divorced.. I just feel really bad for their kids. Like the whole Jon and Kate situation. I think Jon is stupid for getting into an affair(??) because he knows how much it will hurt Kate and their kids. However, I can see why Kate wants to get a divorce. I don't want to be put up with a cheating husband. I just feel really really bad for their kids having to go through all that media and know that one day they will be affected by it. However, sometimes children will be happy if their parents are happy by getting divorced. So I dunno I hate it when there are divorces but if its better for the kids than its fine with me.ok getting off topic. So what I was saying that I think if two loving same sex couples want to get married and adopt than thats fine with me! They probably would have a better success rate and actually stay marry since they know it has taken many years and hard fought battle for gay couples to get married. I actually got so happy when I was watching the secret life for an american teenager. When one of the teens got pregnant she was thinking of letting a gay couple adopt her baby and the way they love and care for children actually made me cry. haha I get so emotional sometimes.

Government spending. I like the idea of a smaller government and less federal control over certain issues. For example, I got soooo mad when I read that the federal government wants to take over the california parks in case they get shut down. They're our parks and we should be the ones in control of it.. not the governemnt. I disagree with many of Arnold's plans such as eliminating parks and cutting down the financial aid and welfare system. I know we are in a crisis but in a crisis we must all make sacrifices to help each other get over these tough times. If it means raising just a tiny bit of taxes plus cutting some programs, than I will be ok with that.I'm going to be an incoming grad student and am so afraid I won't get any financial aid if Arnold's plan will become effect in the near future.

I personally hate how we have to get in other countries's business. I know America is one of the top countries and that we should make sure that other countries are following the U.N orders and stuff. However, I hate the war on Iraq and I hate that we are spending way too much money on our military stuff that can be used towards the programs.I'm a pacifist and I don't like the ideas of war. However, many countries like North Korea are about to test nuclear subject and may declare war on us. Even if I don't like how we spend the money on military it is necessary to protect ourselves so other countries don't think we are weak and take advantage of us. Some great stuff have come out of wars like our independence, end of slavery, end of the Nazi regime, etc.Sometimes wars must happen so something good can come out of it. I like space, Nasa, and all that jazz but our main concern as American's in this economy is to help get ourselves out of this mess. Space will always be there. When the economy is better and we can spend more money than I am all for the space program. It will be cool to live on the moon one day. However, as of right now I want to help the poor, the disadvantage, and the elderly.

So yea those are just a few of my thoughts and concerns right now. I'm still pretty new at all of this political stuff so I would like to hear your thoughts and concerns about each of the things I just mentioned above and some I may not have thought about. Also if you know of any great websites than please list them so I can read up some more and be well informed for the next election!Oh and sorry for the bad grammar and some mis informed info.. like I said.. i'm still new at this :d

I am so not digging the new Wilco's song. I didn't even know they had a new album until I watched last night's ep of Cona. Its WAYYYYY too George Harrison like and kinda repetitive.. I dunno I'm sure it will grow on me eventually.

WTF I'm trying this new ADHD drug called Vyvanse because my doctor said that I'm too old for ritalin. See I've been taking ritalin for years and my body is very used to the drug! I don't have any side effects or any problems while taking it!
I know I'm still trying to adjust to Vyvanse but the side effects sucks!! Its causing me to feel nasueated, jittery, insomniac, and a decrease in appetite. I've also been crying the past few days even when I feel really happy!! I feel hyper and talkative even though its suppose to reduce hyperactivity. WTF?? I hope all these side effects go away super fast before grad school or I'll be a moody bitch.. or I'll switch back to Ritalin and tell my doctor just to prescribe me something my body is used to.

The only positive thing about the drug is the increased attention and weight loss.

I want to meet Spencer and Heidi Pratt... I think it would be fun to be their friend and roll my eyes every time they do something stupid.

The Greek finale was so sad.. why did Casey had to break up with Max? I guess its because the actor will be on the new Merose Place show. Still I love Max.

Spinal Tap is still awesome. Loved them on Conan.

I want to vote for the Teen Choice Awards:(

Oh and for one unrelated pop culture reference... I GOT ACCEPTED TO GRAD SCHOOL!!! YAY.
